ZENN announces 2008 model lineup

The biggest change to the 2008 ZENN is it now includes an AC drive system.  AC drive systems are more efficient, powerful, and do not reduce vehicle range.

New Exterior Model Enhancements

Black aluminum frame
New green body color available
Side flasher lamp on front fenders

New Interior Model Enhancements

Directional “car-like” Shifter (forward, neutral, reverse)
New Steering Wheel
Enhanced Instrument Panel
Updated SOC (State of Charge) Battery Indicator
Odometer and Speedometer refinement for increased accuracy and reliability
Red reflectors on doors
Door panel Lights
Central Antenna
Central Interior Light with auto on/off door switch
Rear dome light
“ON/OFF” disconnect switch for long term storage accessible from within the cabin

Prices for the 2008 ZENN LX start at $15,995.  The base model ZENN that was offered in 2007 is no longer available.

We still have 1, possibly 2, 2007 models that qualify for the ZENN Ambassador Program.  Once these models are sold the Ambassador Program will end!

Wisconsin DOT now registers all NEV's

Effective December 4th, 2007 WISDOT assumed responsibility for licensing and registering NEVs in the State of Wisconsin.  The new NEV plates are the same size as current auto plates and are Turquoise in color with black lettering and have a Low Speed designation on them. The cost for the plates is $23 every 2 years.  This is a significant savings over a gas powered vehicle plate at $70 per year.

We have been told that since this amendment has passed that the State of Wisconsin is now working on enacting a statewide NEV law that will allow NEV's to be driven anywhere in the state.

Energy Forecast for 2008

2007 is history, here is how crude oil and gas prices did in 2007:

                              January 1                     December 31             % Change
Crude Oil:               $59.30                          $96.50                       +62%
Gasoline:                 $2.29                           $2.95                         +29%

As you can see crude oil has increased significantly more than gasoline.  We can expect gasoline prices to increase starting in spring to better reflect the cost of crude oil.  Gas prices are predicted to increase to the $3.40 to $3.60 range by summer.  This could increase to $4.00 a gallon, or more, if there are any disruptions in the current supply of crude oil to the US.  Weather, political changes, capacities and accidents all play a role in prices for crude oil.
